Satellite Imagery Before and After the Earthquake in Nepal

7.8 magnitude earthquake that rocked Nepal on 25 April 2015 and, to date has killed more than 4000 people. The shock of the quake also damaged several buildings temples and old buildings in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal.

Here below a map of the intensity of an earthquake, ranging from the epicenter to the surrounding area. Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, which is less than 100 km from the epicenter, suffered much damage and casualties.

Pictured above is a photo before and after the earthquake in Durbar Square, Kathmandu. Looks a temple has been destroyed by the quake. Below is the Digital Globe satellite imagery comparing the situation before the earthquake in October 2014 in Durbar Square, Kathmandu.

Below are two satellite images to compare the situation in a stadium in Kathmandu before the earthquake (left) and after the earthquake (right) which seem stadium became a place of refuge.

Satellite images below are from UNITAR, CNES, which shows the tower Dhahara before and after the earthquake in Nepal. 60-meter high tower built since 1832 it seemed to crumble and disintegrate.
