Download High Resolution Satellite Imagery of Bing Maps in ArcGIS Desktop 10

ArcGIS Desktop 10 has provided a license to access Bing Maps as a background map for free. By making maps of Bing Maps as a background map, you can also download high-resolution satellite imagery contained in the Bing Maps directly from the ArcGIS Desktop 10, along with a world file for GIS reference.

The following steps to download high-resolution satellite imagery from Bing Maps in ArcGIS Desktop 10.
  1. Download the file HERE Bing_Maps.MXD
  2. Open the file with ArcGIS Desktop 10. You must be connected to the internet to be able to display the Bing Maps as a background map.
  3. Zoom in on the area you want to download high-resolution satellite imagery of his (note: not all the available high-resolution satellite imagery)
